  • How do I access my Linux account remotely?
    You can access your Linux account remotely using an SSH protocol 2 client such as PuTTY or SSH Secure Shell Client (Version 3.2), which are available for free download. The login host name will be “remote.ecc.unr.edu”.
  • How do I burn CDs?
    Open: Applications -> Sound & Video -> X-CD-Roast
    If this is the first time you have run X-CD-Roast it will ask you to save a settings file
    To do this click on “Setup” and then “Save Configuration”
    To burn a CD:
    Click on “Mastering Tracks”
    Add the files or folders you want on the CD, selecting your desired path option
    Click on the “Create Session” tab
    After choosing your desired burn options click on “Master and Write on the Fly”
    You will be asked to confirm your choices, click “OK”
  • How do I check my Linux Disk Quota?
    Log into a Linux machine. If using the machine locally, open a Terminal and type “quota”. If logged in remotely, just type “quota”. Be sure to type “exit” and log out. (If logged in remotely, typing “exit” will log you out.)
